Bettr Health announces collaboration with Mayo Clinic to develop and validate menopause education assistant application

Bettr Health Technology, a Netherlands-based start-up focused on smart technology, today announced emmii, an innovative digital solution for women experiencing menopause. emmii is designed to provide users with personalized insights and advice based on the latest scientific research, aiming to enhance support and care.

Menopause significantly affects the lives of millions of women worldwide, impacting their health, productivity, and overall quality of life. Recent research published by Mayo Clinic researchers highlights that menopause-related issues cost the U.S. economy approximately $1.8 billion annually, underscoring the need for effective and scalable solutions.

At the core of emmii is a validated algorithm developed by Bettr Health Technology in collaboration with Mayo Clinic’s Center for Women’s Health that powers a personalized assessment available via a mobile app. The algorithm was designed to analyze women’s responses to this assessment, capture the presence and severity of menopause symptoms and deliver education and guidance tailored to their individual circumstances. With the emmii app, users can explore lifestyle tips based on the latest scientific findings to manage their symptoms or seek appropriate medical guidance when needed. emmii guides women from awareness and access to action and sustained adherence. This app is slated to be part of a clinical study led by researchers in Mayo Clinic’s Center for Women’s Health, examining the impact of digital, personalized health guidance for women and healthcare professionals during menopause.

emmii will be available later this year to organizations and healthcare institutions, starting with the Netherlands. This announcement marks the first step in a broader mission by Bettr Health to continiously improve women’s health worldwide through scientific research, technology and accessible healthcare solutions.

Mayo Clinic has a financial interest in the technology mentioned in this press release. Mayo Clinic will use any revenue received to support its nonprofit mission in patient care, education, and research.
